“ Christianity Explored” developed over 10 years, Christianity Explored is an informal course for people who’d like to investigate Christianity, or just brush up on the basics. It explores who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him.
You won’t be asked to pray, sing or read aloud, and you can ask any questions you like. Or, if you prefer, you can just come along and listen. Christianity Explored has been around for over a decade now, and it’s been designed to suit different age ranges and people. Day and time to be announced.

The DownEast Youth Event was held  March 26 & 27, 2011, Calais Veterans Memorial Gym.    The Rector for the weekend was Michelle Boomer.  The weekend was for youth in grades 6-12, led by youth. There were twenty two teens and adults who worshipped played and studied.  Highlight of the event was the youth building bird houses at WCCC.  We talked about how scripture tells us that birds don’t worry and we shouldn’t either.  This event was  Sponsored by St Anne’s Episcopal Church, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 2nd Baptist Church, 1st Congregational Church, Calais United Methodist Church, Baring Baptist , the Episcopal Diocesan Youth Ministries and Mays Funeral Home of Calais and Eastport, Maine.

LENTEN BOOK DISCUSSIONs

“The Me I Want to Be” by John Ortberg

Thursday Mornings at 9:15— “God wants us to become a new creation.  But new doesn’t mean completely different; instead it’s like an old motorcycle that gets restored to its intended magnificence.  The good news is that as God redeems us and restores us, we become more ‘me’.  We become more that person God had in mind when He first thought you up.  God is not interested in mass-producing us, but rather handcrafting us to be his best version of ME.”

Traditional Lenten Discipline
Worship & Meditation: During Lent,
St. Anne’s will offer added opportunities for public worship and encourage you to more
frequent and fervent prayer, Bible study and
private meditation on the saving love of god in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Fasting and Abstinence: As an aid to devotional life, many Christians give up certain foods or activities through Lent. Some also set aside certain days (Wednesdays and Fridays) for more rigorous fasting in the Lord’s Honor.
Almsgiving: Moved by the sacrifice of Christ, Many Christians combine almsgiving with fasting, giving to the poor the money they saved by eating, drinking or buying less as they rely more upon God’s abundant grace.
Might Boxes: During this season children have often filled mite Boxes to be presented during the
offering on Easter Sunday. (this is not limited to the young all may participate). Boxes are available in the Parish Hall.
